Not AA approved literature!!
The meditations are not AA approved. Although I still sometimes find them useful, the"daily encounter" is particularly troubling, as it is very explicitly Christian - using Bible quotes and prayers to Jesus. This is not in keeping with AAs key concept of finding a Higher Power of your understanding. Todays "meditation" took it to a whole new level, writing about maintaining the sanctity of marriage and about the blasphemy of gay marriage. As a happily married lesbian AA, this was extremely offensive to me. One of my favorite things about AA is that there is no judgment about ones sexuality, religion, age, ethnicity, etc. In the rooms, we are all equal and there for the same purpose. Thank goodness I have spent enough time in the rooms not to be chased off by this garbage.
